Joyce Louise Affeldt, age 70, of rural Blair, died on Monday, January 6, 2014 in the Gundersen Tri-County Care Center in Whitehall.

Joyce was born on September 19, 1943 in Winona, MN to Frank and Dorothy (Janke) Konkel. She married Quinton Affeldt on November 14, 1964 in Winona.

Joyce was employed at Whitehall Specialties in Whitehall, Gallagher Locker Plant and Gopher Glove in Independence prior to her retirement from Ashley Furniture Industries in Arcadia. She enjoyed farming, sewing and rummage sales.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Quinton "Buddy" Affeldt; three children, Queleen (Kevin) Kalina of Galesville, Quinn (Betty) Affeldt of Ettrick and Quinzell (Shannon) Affeldt of Illinois; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, eight brothers and sisters, Barb Lewis of Texas, her identical twin sister, Joan Mueller of Winona, MN, Kenneth Konkel of Houston, MN, David Konkel of Prairie du Chien, WI, Carol Johnson of Lewiston, Roger Konkel of Winona,MN, Paul Konkel of Galesville and Judy Johnsgaard of Trempealeau.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jack Funeral Home with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery both in Blair. Pastor Barbara Bruneau will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
