Juanita "Jeanie" Eliza Dougan, age 72, of Blair, died on Sunday, April 22, 2018 in Dove Healthcare in Osseo.

Jeanie was born July 31, 1945 in Las Cruces, NM to Edward and Victoria (Mendoza) Murphy. Jeanie was mother to eight children through marriages to Clayton Nadeau and Alvin Samples Sr. In the 1980's, Jeanie moved to Las Vegas, NV where she worked her way from change girl at the Imperial Palace to Security at the Silver Nugget and Fashion Show Mall and then to Chief of Security at the Boulevard Mall on the Las Vegas Strip. Jeanie also served as a Constable for North Las Vegas.

Jeanie married Kent Dougan on April 3, 1995. Following Kent's passing in 2005, Jeanie relocated from Las Vegas to Wisconsin to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Jeanie had a passion for cooking and baking. Seeing what was new on the Food Channel was one her greatest enjoyments! Jeanie spoiled those around her wih food, care, gifts and love. Her life was filled with family and friends from near and far.

Jeanie is survived by her children, Michelle Thayer of Black River Falls, Alvin "Jay" (Amy) Samples Jr. of Blair, Chuck Samples of Whitehall, Jackie Samples of Arcadia, John Samples of Blair and Danielle (John) Pittenger of Whitehall; a sister, Maxine (Carl) Saddler of Las Vegas; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Kent, Jeanie was preceded in death by two daughters, Ranae Uy and Debbie Nadeau; a sister, Norma Jean Banks; a brother, John R. Murphy and her beloved pups, Macki and Shelby.

Jeanie will be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. with Father Kennedy officiating.

Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Blair at a later date.
