Judith Ann Giese, 74, of Pigeon Falls, died on Sunday, February 16, 2014 in the Gundersen Tri-County Memorial Hospital in Whitehall with her family by her side.

Judy was born May 26, 1939 in Pigeon Falls, WI to Helmer & Irene (Jacobson) Neperud. She attended Pigeon Falls Grade School and graduated from Whitehall High School in 1958. Judy married David Giese on January 8, 1961 in Pigeon Falls, WI. Judy and David previously lived in Pigeon Falls, Monona and in 1980 returned to reside in rural Pigeon Falls on their farm in Daggett Coulee.

Judy worked at her father's store in Pigeon Falls, The Pigeon Falls Creamery, Monona and Whitehall Schools in the Food Service and owned a catering business where she catered many weddings over the years.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Pigeon Falls and active in various community activities including quilting, WELCA, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and Church Counsel. Judy also enjoyed volunteering at the Pigeon Falls Nursing Home. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, camping, traveling, the Red Hat's group, attending plays and cherished the time she was able to spend with her family.

Judy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 53 years, David, and their three children, Brian (Karla) Giese of Stevensville, MT, Matthew (Rhonda) Giese of Whitehall and Nancy (Rory) Thelen of Campbellsport; six grandchildren, Adam Giese, Ethan & Taylor Giese, Lucas & Elizabeth Matchey & Leo Thelen; five siblings, Patricia Abrahamson of Whitehall, John (Sara) Neperud of Beaver Dam, Carol (Roger) Guse of Pigeon Falls, David (Janet) Neperud of Monona and Ken (Lois) Neperud of Whitehall; several nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Lyman & Esther (Johnson) Giese; two brothers, Peter and Donny Neperud and a brother-in-law, Donald Abrahamson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Peace Lutheran Church of Pigeon Falls with burial in the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery both in Pigeon Falls. Pastor Mary Ann Bowman will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 21, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
