LaBelle Jane Anderson, age 94, of Lexington, KY, formerly of Blair, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 in the Baptist Health Center in Lexington, KY.

LaBelle was born on September 13, 1921 in Tappen Coulee, rural Blair, to Albert and Mina (Pederson) Blom. She was confirmed on May 12, 1935 and graduated from the Blair High School on May 23, 1939.

In the 1940's, LaBelle was employed by Montgomery Wards and W.T. Grant stores in LaCrosse. In 1947, she and her siblings, Orton, Evelyn and LeRoy went on a singing tour for the International Harvester Company entertaining people at the McCormick Deering Day shows. They called themselves the McCormick Deering Ramblers and traveled to towns throughout central and southern Wisconsin. Orton and Evelyn accompanied their singing with guitars and with LeRoy playing the mandolin.

In the 1950's, LaBelle returned to Blair and worked at the offices of the Preston Co-op Creamery. On November 28, 1958, LaBelle married Ernest Arnold Anderson of Taylor. Ernest preceded LaBelle in death on September 23, 2004.

LaBelle enjoyed craft projects, crocheting, traveling, especially to Norway, solving crossword puzzles and working on the family genealogy. LaBelle always enjoyed music and dancing. She particularly loved to hear a good fiddle player, especially her brother, LeRoy and his sons.

LaBelle moved to Kentucky in 2009 to be near her daughter, and was quickly adopted into the McGuire family whom she loved. She made many friends in Prestonsburg, Pikeville, Paintsville and Lexington, KY. LaBelle had the opportunity to dance a few waltzes or a foxtrot every week where she lived and a highlight was that she got to dance at her 94th birthday party on September 13, 2015.

LaBelle is survived by her daughter, Mary McGuire of Lexington, KY; nieces and nephews, Barbara (Gary) Capper of Barron, John (Shirlie) Nimmo and Sandy (Bob) Krpata both of Black River Falls, Larry Losching of West Salem, Mark Blom of Holmen, Dan (Lori) Blom of Stone Lake, Kevin (Renae) Blom of Shawnee, KS, Kari (Brian) Rowe of Murfreesboro, TN and Lisa Blom of Onalaska.

In addition to her parents and husband, LaBelle was preceded in death by five siblings, Orton Blom, Leonora Nimmo, Evelyn Losching, LeRoy Blom and James Blom and a niece, LeAnn (John) Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Blair Lutheran Church East with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery both in Blair. Pastor Barbara Bruneau will officiate.
