Lawrence Arthur McCabe, age 78, of rural Ettrick, died on Monday, September 25, 2017 in the Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls.

Lawrence was born on October 23, 1938 in Elmhurst, IL to John and Hellen (Powell) McCabe. He married Audrian "Totsy" Czarny on July 26, 1958 in Lyons, IL. Lawrence and Totsy moved to rural Ettrick in 1970.

Lawrence did carpentry work and farmed. He enjoyed riding horses and motorcycles. Lawrence belonged to the Wisconsin Guernsey Breeders Association and also the National Guernsey Breeders Association.

Lawrence is survived by his wife, Totsy; three children, Cathleen McCabe, Patrick (friend, Chris) McCabe of Blair and Lawrence McCabe of Platteville; five grandchildren and a brother, Jack (Darlene) McCabe of Apalachin, NY.

In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by a son, Matthew.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair. Burial will be in Saint Bridget's Catholic Cemetery in Ettrick.
