Lawrence (Larry) John Newland, age 78, of Blair, passed away on May 10, 2023 in his home in Blair.

Larry was born on November 24, 1944 to Frances and Elise (Guenther) Newland Barnes in Elyria, OH.

Larry graduated high school in Lorain, OH. He later served in the Army. He had a dog named Rollo that he loved to walk with wherever he could go. He enjoyed music of all different kinds. He worked at Knack in McHenry, IL, at Nissan in Marengo, IL and also drove for Grey Hound Bus. He lived in Belvidere, IL before moving to Blair with his daughter Andrea. He was Andrea's hero.

Larry is survived by his wife Debbie (Kizer) Newland; two sons, John (Stephanie Byrd) of Eureka, CA and Joel Newland of NE; two stepdaughters, Carrie (Market) Maphis of Black River Falls and Andrea (Bernard) Getter of Blair; two sisters, Rosemary (Newland) Baron of AZ Geraldine Brundle of Avon Lake, OH; brother Robert Newland of MO, many grandchildren and his best friend Lyle of NE.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother Edward and his son Michael.
