LeahRay "Leah" Holmen, age 84, entered Heaven's gates on July 3, 2019. She was born February 23, 1935, in Price, Wisconsin to Herbert and Etta Hein. She married her longtime sweetheart and love, Harris Holmen, in August 1952 who preceded her in death in 2001.

LeahRay loved to laugh and to love on people. A loving mother and homemaker, Leah was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most notably over the holidays. Her infectious laughter was her signature, and all who met her were warmed and delighted by it and looked forward to the next visit with Leah to hear her laugh and enjoy her cooking.

For many years LeahRay worked in the food industry as a cook. She cooked for retirement homes, schools, race track kitchens, and a variety of local eateries. It suited her servant's heart. She said she did it because she knew the power of love through food. She used to say, "Do what's right and do what's good. Be kind and help others." She lived by those words.

Her life was a living example of a favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 – "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."

LeahRay is survived by her two sisters Colleen Flick and Jaclyn Zahrte; her four children Paul Holmen, Roger Holmen, Darlene Gunter, and Cheryl Holmen, plus five grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and her many nephews and nieces. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.
