LeRoy Eugene Johnson, age 84, of rural Ettrick, died on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.

Leroy was born on March 10, 1932 in rural Blair to Selmer and Lilly (Mikkelson) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair. LeRoy attended the Carpenter Elementary School and graduated from the Blair High School in May of 1950.

LeRoy married Eileen Bue on June 28, 1952 in the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick. LeRoy served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

LeRoy was employed as a meat cutter and butcher and worked in Blair, Ettrick and at the packing plant in Whitehall. He also owned and operated Johnson Meat Processing in Blair prior to his retirement.

LeRoy is survived by his wife, Eileen; four children, Lance (Carey) Johnson of Blair, Linda (Dave) Justmann of Somerset, Wade (fiancee`, Marion Pahl) Johnson of Galesville and Wynette Johnson of Bartlett, TN; five grandchildren, Eric, Adam, Dawn, Bill and Mirachelle; four great-grandchildren, SkyMarie, Chance, Annabel and Jet; a great-great-granddaughter, Korine; a sister, Marion Johnson of Blair; two brothers, George (Lois) Johnson of Strum and Stanley (Bonnie) Johnson of Whitehall; three sisters-in-law, Theo Johnson of Appleton, Ella Mae Johnson of Madison and Bernice (Ronnie) Olson of Blair; a brother-in-law, Vernon (Carol) Bue of Etrrick; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, LeRoy was preceded in death by three sisters, Bessie (Ralph) Schansberg, Lillian (Don) Koch and Grace (George) Fromm and two brothers, Harvey and Willis Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at 1:30 p.m. in the North Beaver Creek Lutheran Church (Faith) in rural Ettrick. Pastor Roger Grow will officiate. Burial with military rites will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 17, 2016 from 5-7 p.m. in the church and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
