Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother Lillie Miranda (Solberg) Haugen, 95, formerly of La Crosse, WI passed away June 21, 2015 at King Veterans Home in Waupaca WI.

Visitation will begin @ 10:00 a.m. with funeral service following @ 11:00 a.m. June 29th at Trinity Lutheran Church in La Crosse WI. Pastor Erik Feig will officiate and the burial will follow at French Creek Cemetery in Ettrick, WI.

Lillie was born March 4, 1920 on the Solberg homestead in rural Ettrick to Melvin & Bertha Lebakken) Solberg the 3rd oldest of six children. She was baptized and confirmed at French Creek Lutheran Church in Ettrick, WI. She married Hiram Oscar Haugen on November 21, 1943 at Zion Lutheran Church in Blair WI. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church donating her time along with her sisters Leona Erickson and Neva Barnes.

Lillie & Hiram loved spending time with their children and grandchildren. She spent many days with her sisters Leona and Neva shopping, visiting on the phone and baking cookies for our families. Mom graciously welcomed her nieces and nephews into their home when they needed shelter attending college in La Crosse. Sandbakkels and everything pink adorned Mom's environment while living @ King.

Remembering her with affection are two children Wanda (Paul) Sheldon, Fond du Lac, WI and Steve (Gloria) Haugen, Onalaska, WI; special sister-in-law Beverly Solberg; six grandchildren Mark (Jodi) Sheldon, Sheboygan, WI, Melissa (Damian) La Croix, Suamico, WI, Angela Sheldon, Alexandria, VA and Alexander Haugen, Burnsville, MN;John La Fleur, Fairbanks, Alaska and Terry La Fleur, La Crosse, WI; several nieces and nephews and twelve great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and several special great nieces and great nephews along with many treasured friends. The employees @ King Veterans Home took loving care of our father, Hiram and Mom, Lillie, and became close friends which we remember with special memories.,

Her loving husband of nearly 71 years, Hiram Oscar Haugen, preceded her in death April 17, 2014. Other family members who preceded her death her parents Melvin & Bertha Solberg treasured siblings Francis (Beverly) Solberg, Arnold (Alvera) Solberg, Vivian (George) Shay, Geneva (Paul) Barnes and Leona (Casper) Erickson, sister-in-law Marjorie (Allen) Redsten, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many uncles, aunts, one great grandchild, cousins and friends.

The family appreciates the caring staff at King Veterans Home who attended to the needs of our father, Hiram, and mother, Lillie, along with volunteers of Heartland Hospice who graciously visited with Mom during her passing.

Memorials can be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, King Veterans Home as well as Heartland Hospice Fund.
