Lou was born March 25, 1943, in
Wayne Michigan, the second son
of Louie and Samantha Suter. He
attended Lincoln Elementary and
Wayne Memorial High School (class of 1961). He was an excellent swimmer and earned the honor of being ranked number 32 in the state of Michigan. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute, Houghton College and Dallas Seminary. During his school years, he worked at Ford Motor Company, Lloyd J. Harris Pie Company, ICX and Yellow Freight.

On June 22, 1968, Lou was united in marriage to Patricia Feldman in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Lou and Pat lived in Dallas Texas1968-1972, Hazelpark Michigan where he served as Associate Pastor 1972-1973. He was Pastor of Calvary Memorial Church in Sioux Falls, South Dakota 1975-1988 and served as Pastor of Pelican Rapids Baptist Church in Minnesota 1989-2012. Lou retired in September 2012 and he and Pat moved to Whitehall, Wisconsin to be near their grandchildren. Fishing, day trips, playing UNO, attending sporting events, plays, and music programs were always a highlight for him.

Lou was interim Pastor at First Baptist Whitehall from June 2013 through December 2014. His greatest joy was preaching about Jesus, making friends, visiting parishioners and shut-ins to share his faith.

Lou enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, golfing and fishing and playing cribbage. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Pat, son Shawn (Lindsey, Madi, Avery, Elizabeth, Chase, Jameson), daughter Kristi Hodnefield (Chad, Hannah, Micah, Josiah, Moriah), daughter Maribeth Suter and brothers Lloyd (Judy) and Brian (Sandy).

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at 11:00 am in Whitehall Wisconsin at First Baptist Church of Whitehall. Pastor Leon Andersen officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service for visitation with the family.
