LuEllen Marie Carpenter, age 67, of Whitehall, died on Saturday, December 21, 2024 in the Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall.

LuEllen was born on July 20, 1957 in Whitehall to Lyle and Mavis (Jacobson) Olson.

LuEllen married John R. Carpenter on July 17, 1981 in Whitehall.  John preceded LuEllen in death on June 4, 2015.

LuEllen spent her free time sharing long drives with John (husband) visiting new and exciting restaurants throughout the state.  You could find LuEllen creating new culinary delights in the kitchen for family events.  Often, LuEllen was curled up on the couch enjoying a good book, scary movie or watching The Young and Restless. She loved Law & Order, if there was a mystery to be solved, she was on it!  In recent years, LuEllen enjoyed spending time with her daughter, Shelley or visiting with her sisters.

LuEllen's professional careers were at Whitehall Specialties and the Trempealeau County Health Care Center.

LuEllen is survived by her daughter, Shelley Manka of Blair; two step-sons, John Carpenter of Boston, MA and Ken Carpenter of Cadott; her mother, Mavis Olson of Whitehall; four sisters, Charrolet (Curtis) Beck of Blair, Eileen Fremstad of Osseo, Kathleen Kimble of Osseo and Arlene (Dick) Ferkes of Louisiana; a brother, Dale Olson of Whitehall; an uncle, Ardell Jacobson of Blair; several brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her father, Lyle Olson, LuEllen was preceded in death by her husband, John Carpenter; a brother, Loren Olson; a brother-in-law, Orlin Fremstad and a nephew, Timothy Beck.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Lincoln Cemetery in Whitehall.  A luncheon and a time of fellowship will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 1-4 p.m. in the Blair-Preston Community Center in Blair.
