Lynn Afton Roe Sr., age 82, of Alma Center, formerly of Wittenberg, died on Monday, March 7, 2016 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Lynn was born on July 23, 1933 in Amherst Junction to Palmer and Ella (Bestul) Roe. He married Madeline J. Knopp on August 26, 1981 in Waupaca who preceded him in death.

Lynn farmed in the Wittenberg area for many years prior to moving to Alma Center.

Lynn is survived by two sons, Lynn V. (Janice) Roe Jr. of Alma Center and Dale Roe of Rosholt; two daughters, Karalee (Paul) Wensel of Black River Falls and Karen (Nathan) Kling of Taylor; ten grandchildren, Calvin, Aron and Alek Roe, Matt, Beth, Zach and Brad Wensel, Grace, Jacob and Justin Kling; a sister, Lorna Wogsland of Bridge City, TX; three nephews, Arden Stoltenberg of Amherst Junction, Ward Wogsland of California and Gary Roe of Brookfield, WI; four nieces, Nola Knight of Amherst Junction, Linda Lingelback WA, Carolyn Authement of TX and Marlene Lisowski of AZ and his dog, Nancy.

In addition to his parents and wife, Lynn was preceded in death by a brother, Malcolm Roe; a sister, Evelyn Stoltenberg; a sister-in-law, Pearl Roe; two brothers-in-law, J. Irving Stoltenberg and Willard Wogsland; three nieces, Janice Phelps, Gloria Wong and Judy Humphrey.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Saviors Lutheran Church - New Hope with burial in the church cemetery both in Amherst Junction. Pastor Greg Haugen will officiate.
