Marcella "Marcy" Howerton passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the age of 72.

Marcy was born on December 11, 1946 in Ohio to Gilbert and Sophia Tipper. Marcy had two brothers, Gilbert Tipper Jr. and Ozzie Tipper, along with a sister, Mary Ann Tipper who had passed away years ago. Marcy married David Albert Howerton in 1967 in Lompoc, CA. David had passed away on January 29, 2017. October 13, 2017 would have been their 50 year anniversary. Marcy kept their apartment in Blair where she enjoyed living on her own for the first time in her life.

Marcy was an avid reader of mystery books. Sue Grafton was one of her favorite authors. Marcy and her daughters would keep each other current on books by JD Robb aka as Nora Roberts.

Marcy is survived by her two daughters, Liz and Kathy Howerton and five grandchildren, Chris, Mariah, Chase, Dane and Cesar Samples. Even though only Chase and Dane are related by blood, Marcy has been a grandmother to all the children. She also had a sister, Rose Carpentar, and three nieces and one nephew.

No services are planned at this time.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
