Marie Annette Dissmore

Marie Annette (Phillipson) Dissmore, age 76, died September 24 at home. She was born May 28, 1936 in Rural Whitehall, to Edwin and Laura (Kurth) Phillipson. She was the seventh in a family of 12 children.
She attended elementary school at Coral City, and graduated from Whitehall Memorial High School. She also graduated from North Central Bible College (University), Minneapolis, and pursued journalism via correspondence from Christian Writer's Institute, Wheaton College, IL.
She married Rev. Roger Dissmore, her childhood sweetheart in 1956 and they spent over 50 years in pastoral ministry, beginning in Hastings, Minnesota, and churches in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. In 1999 they moved to their home town, Whitehall, WI.
Marie is survived by her husband, Rev. Roger Dissmore,Sr., four sons, Rev. Jeffrey (Deborrah) Dissmore, Great Cacapon, West Virginia; Chaplain Rev. Peter (Tixieanna) Dissmore, Fort Meade, MD; Roger (Carolyn) Dissmore, Jr., Sulphur Springs, Indiana; Rev. Perry (Nicole) Dissmore, Hartford, Illinois; two daughters, Sally (Thomas) Zielke, Glidden, WI; and Connie Herr, Chippewa Falls, WI; four brothers, Lawrence Phillipson, Amery; Howard (Donna) Phillipson, Franklin; Conrad (Genevieve) Phillipson, Whitehall; and Dale (Andrea) Phillipson, Pine Island, MN; two sisters, Sylvia (Ross) Curry, Wisconsin Dells; and Janette (William) Marchese, Floral City, Florida; 29 grandchildren, Jennifer (Jeremy) Brooks, Carrie (Michael) St.Clair, Joseph Dissmore; Dallas Dissmore, Petal (Michael) Savage, Siera Dissmore, Daniel Dissmore, Victoria Dissmore, Samuel Zielke, Charity Zielke, Josiah Zielke, Gabriel Zielke, Jubilee Zielke, Malachi Zielke, Hosanna Zielke, Elijah Zielke, Tryphena Zielke, Barnabas Zielke and Jehiel Zielke; Hannah (Ryan) Workman, Rachel Dissmore, Roger Dissmore III, Hope Dissmore, Caleb Dissmore; Elizabeth Herr, Michael Herr; Kimberly Dissmore, Kathryn Dissmore and Jeremiah Dissmore, two great grand children, Sofia Brooks and Jayce Savage, and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Elizabeth Dissmore; one grandson, Israel Zielke; four brothers, Earl Phillipson, Robert Phillipson, Gene Phillipson, and John Phillipson; two sisters, Julie Ann Phillipson and Phyllis Cornwell.
Marie was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Whitehall.
Marie enjoyed music, playing piano, marimba and accordion, and ministering in music with her family. She also pursued writing, and enjoyed writing feature stories for newspapers, as well as writing books about people's lives, and stories for her grandchildren.
The visitation will be held Thursday, September 27 at Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall from 4 pm to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28 at the Assembly of God Church, Whitehall at 11:00 am. Special music will be provided by her children and grandchildren, with Rev. Jeff Dissmore officiating and ministering. Burial will be in Old Whitehall Cemetery.
