Marie Arlene Lee, age 100, of Whitehall, died surrounded by her loving granddaughter and great-granddaughter on Friday, October 13, 2017 in the Gundersen Tri-County Care Center in Whitehall.

Marie was born on July 31, 1917 in Osseo to August and Myrtle (Anderson) Fischer. She married Alvin Hartvig Lee on May 6, 1939. Alvin preceded Marie in death on May 28, 1989.

Marie had a cleaning business and cleaned the old clinic in Whitehall, Tarrants Law Office, the Highway 53 Bar plus several homes. Marie had to turn down work because she was so good at what she did and was a very honest person.

Marie loved company, entertaining and her flowers. The coffee was always ready and some delicious treats were waiting for her guests. She was an avid letter writer and would send birthday cards to everyone.

Marie loved to dance and travel and will be remembered as a loving and caring person.

Marie is survived by two children, Geraldine (David) Thompson of Cameron and Randy (Terri) Lee of Kewaunee; four grandchildren, Bryan (Cindy) Thompson, Laura (Steve) Tranberg, Danielle (John) De Jardine and Michelle (Shane) Brady; six great-grandchildren, Matt (Cassie) Thompson, Amanda Tranberg, Brittany and Courtney De Jardine, Carly and James Rahn; a great-great-grandson, Jaxon and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by a daughter, Muriel; two sisters, Leona Dahl and Lorraine Johnson and a brother, Russell Fischer.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall with Pastor Dorothy Sandahl officiating. Burial will be in the Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery in rural Osseo.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
