Mary Eleanor Flikkeshaug, age 93, of Whitehall, died on Monday, July 24, 2017 in the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls.

Mary was born on December 5, 1923 in Minnesota. She married John Flikkeshaug on February 6, 1939 in Winona, MN. John preceded Mary in death on February 23, 1971.

Mary was employed as a nurse's aide at the Golden Age Home and the Tri-County Memorial Nursing Home in Whitehall prior to her retirement.

Mary was an avid card player, enjoyed playing bingo, going to casinos, sewing, baking and quilting.

Mary is survived by two sons, Tony (Viola) Flikkeshaug of Whitehall and Frank Flikkeshaug of Holmen; a son-in-law, Charles Johnson of Whitehall; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Marie Johnson; three sons, Roger, John and Merlin Flikkeshaug and a grandson, Alan Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall with Pastor Mary Ann Bowman officiating. Burial will be in the Pigeon Creek Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Pigeon Falls.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
