Mary Lou (Welchert) Myers, age 75, of Blair, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair, WI after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones.

Mary Lou was born in Little Grant, WI to Joseph and Delpha (Morrow) Welchert on August 17, 1940. She was raised in Bloomington, WI where she met and fell in love with her husband of 55 years, David G. Myers. They married on February 27, 1960. One of David's fondest memories was where they first met – on a blanket at a picnic when they were babies. Mary Lou was older and David teased she took advantage of him; but, it was an undeniable love. Together they raised four successful children, passing on the importance of a family standing together.

Mary Lou leaves behind four children and nine grandchildren who were always on her mind and in her heart.

Mary Lou loved football and cheered on her beloved Green Bay Packers every weekend. She grew up with a passion for playing cards, especially Bridge, and continued playing throughout her life.She was blessed with many wonderful friends, made over a good game of Bridge, including the ladies from her annual "Turtle" weekend.

After retirement, Mary Lou and David enjoyed traveling and spent several years in Bull Head City, AZ exploring the many small towns in the area.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband of 55 years, David G. Myers; her children, Jeff (Amy) Myers of Rochester, MN, Kim Myers of Shakopee, MN, Tom (Mary) Myers of Haughton, LA and Lisa (Aaron) Dubiel of Baraboo,WI; her grandchildren, David Myers, Kathryn Myers, Mark Myers, Alyssa Bown, Ryan Wozney, Megan Myers, Dylan Myers, Jesse (Heidi) Dubiel and Jared Dubiel; two sisters, Phyllis Straehl of Blanchardville, WI and Donna Erdman of Onalaska, WI; a brother, Bill (Peggy) Welchert of Hamlin, KY.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by a brother, Tim "Mit" Welchert; a grandson, Nicholas Bown and a granddaughter, Samantha Wozney.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Mary's Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery both in Bloomington, WI. Father John Meinholz will officiate.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair, WI where a prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. led by Father Anthony Joseph. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
