Nolan Wayne Goplin, age 61, of rural Osseo, died on Friday, April 19, 2013 in the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Nolan was born on January 2, 1952 in Eau Claire to Edgar and Charlotte (Johnson) Goplin. He married Judy Kupka on September 12, 1970 in Whitehall.

Nolan and Judy, along with their sons have spent a lifetime farming in the town of Hale. Nolan was always grateful for each of the part time and full time employees who helped make farm life enjoyable and more efficient. Nolan will be missed each day for all of his wisdom and guidance. He ejoyed spending time with his grandchildren, taking them on tractor and gator rides where they would enjoy a treat from his lunch bucket. After a long day of farm work, Nolan enjoyed grilling a good ribeye while sipping a Brandy Old Fashion and mixing the best kiddie cocktails, especially at Tuesday night dinners. When he wasn't busy working on the farm, he could be found filling the position as "head butcher', enjoying the company of his Pigeon Falls Coffee Buddies, and on Sundays, taking Judy on romantic rides to check on the crops. Nolan served on the church counsel, Farm Bureau Board, and as the Trempealeau County Fair Board President. His strong work ethic, character, integrity and perhaps a bit of stubbornness will forever be present in each of his family members.
Nolan is survived by his wife, Judy; two sons, Jamie (Darcy) of Whitehall and Shane (Melinda) of Osseo; six grandchildren, Chelsie (JasonWest) Goplin, Shylana, Shad, Kendra, Vaida and Brinna Goplin; a great-granddaughter, Mya Goplin-West; his parents, Edgar and Charlotte of Pigeon Falls; a brother, Nathan (Judy) of Osseo; three sisters, Naurine Schroeder of Galesville, Juline (David) Schroeder of Whitehall and Darline (Jim) Knudtson of Marshfield; his mother-in-law, Elaine Kupka of Whitehall; two brothers-in-law, Gary and Patric (Kathleen) Kupka both of Whitehall; many nieces and nephews.

Nolan was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Ariyah Nolynn Goplin-West; a brother-in-law, Mike Schroeder and his father-in-law, Richard Kupka.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Peace Lutheran of Pigeon Falls in Pigeon Falls with Pastor Roger Benrud officiating. Burial will be in the Lincoln Cemetery in Whitehall.
Visitation will be Monday, April 22, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
