Norman Willard Otterson, age 90, of Blair, died on Sunday, October 4, 2015 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair where he had been a resident since of August of this year.

Norman was born on July 22, 1925 to John and Inga (Halverson) Otterson in the town of Franklin, Jackson County, WI. Following his school years, Norman served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Marie Joyce Seifert of Taylor on August 10, 1953. They resided in Blair where Norman worked as a carpenter, at the Blair Sawmill and the Blair Produce Company prior to retiring from the Trempealeau County Highway Department.

Norman enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, dancing, hunting, fishing, country and old time music as well as good home cooked food.

Norman is survived by a son, Michael Otterson of Blair; a sister, Inez Rude of Blair; a brother, Orlin Otterson of Madison; a brother-in-law, Robert Talford of Rock Falls; several nieces and nephews. Dear to his heart were two nieces through marriage, Beverly (Roger) Nelson of Blair and Peggy (Gene) Tranberg of Galesville; a great-niece, Heather (Wally) Seubert of Laguna Niguel, CA and a great-nephew, Nels (fiancee`, Katie) Nelson of Winona, MN.

In addition to his parents and wife, Marie, who died on April 1, 2001, Norman was preceded in death by two brothers, Burnet and Joe; a sister, Verna Talford; a brother-in-law, Rolf Rude and two sisters-in-law, Betty Otterson and Irene Everson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in Blair Lutheran Church West with burial in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery both in Blair. Pastor Barbara Bruneau will officiate. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231.
