Orvis Marvin Anderson, age 92, of Ettrick, died on Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair with his family by his side.

Orvis was born on June 9, 1924 in the town of Ettrick to Ludvig and Emma (Gilboe) Anderson. He was baptized, confirmed and a devoted member of the South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick. Orvis attended the South Branch School in rural Ettrick.

Orvis married Margaret Tranberg in the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick on December 29, 1954.

Orvis was employed with the township of Ettrick, Swanson Construction, Archer Daniels Midland Company and Babson Bros. Company in addition to operating a small farm.

Orvis enjoyed going to the Ettrick Sales Barn, driving his Ford tractors and his Model A Ford. Orvis loved his entire family and was known to be a friendly, happy, dedicated man of whom always had a huge smile and would reply by always saying "ya".

Orvis is survived by his wife, Margaret; three sons, Dale (Julie), Richard (Marie) and Layne (Sarah) all of Ettrick; six grandchildren, Desiree (Joe), Benjamin (Sari), Michael (Erica), Johnathon (Amanda), Jennifer (Justin) and Nickolaus; seven great-grandchildren, Carter, Kayla, Alayna, Aidan, Alex, Grace and Nora.

In addition to his parents, Orvis was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Lester; four sisters, Mamie, Evelyn, Ethel and Harriette and his grandson, Joshua.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Ettrick. Pastor John Ashland will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. in the South Beaver Creek Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

Orvis's family would like to thank the Grand View Care Center for the loving care they have given to Orvis during his stay.
