Ralph Johnson, age 94, of Whitehall, died on Monday, April 13, 2026 at Caretta Senior Living in Eau Claire.

Ralph was born on March 2, 1932 on a farm in Bruce Valley in rural Trempealeau County to Johnnie K. and Amber (Hogue) Johnson.  He married Janice A. Johnson on December 23, 1953 in Vancouver, WA.  They settled in the Arcadia area until moving to Whitehall in 1968.  Together they raised three children, Gregory, Jean and Cheryl.  Janice preceded Ralph in death on August 1, 2024.

Ralph served in the United States Army from 1951-1954 and spent time in Korea.  He worked in both the Arcadia and Independence areas in the cabinet making industry.  Besides spending time with his family, he thoroughly enjoyed a day of fishing.  When he could no longer go fishing, he still enjoyed talking about it!  He and Janice also enjoyed going to auctions and antique stores to see what more antiques they could find.  His antique collections included guns, tools, toys, a variety of cans and tins, and traps.

Ralph was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall, but also had some deep connections to the Bruce Valley Lutheran Church in rural Strum.  He and Janice made some significant monetary donations to the restoration and maintenance projects of that church.

Ralph is survived by a daughter, Jean (Dan) Lemon of Colorado; a sister, Darlene Bergerson of Eau Claire; sisters-in-law, Jeanette Johnson of Eau Claire, Judy Anderson of Chatfield, MN and Shirley (Ray) Zeller of West Concord, MN; a brother-in-law, John (Nancy) Johnson of Rochester, MN; grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ralph was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Harold and Mabel (Giese) Johnson; a son, Greg; a daughter, Cheryl; eleven brothers and sisters and their spouses, and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery, both in Whitehall. Scott W. Brown - SAM will officiate. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
