Richard H. Nyen, age 84, of Blair, died on Sunday August 11, 2019 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Richard was born on July 18, 1935 in the Town of Preston to Harry and Helen (Jorgenson) Nyen. He married Janice Dahl on May 4, 1957 in Blair.

Richard worked 35 years in road construction and retired as the Trempealeau County Highway Commissioner.

Richard is survived by his wife Janice; his daughter Karen (Jim) Kindschy of Holmen; two grandsons, Adam (Lindsay) Kindschy of Madison and Ryan (Katie) Kindschy of Marshfield; four great-grandchildren, Everett, Alayna, Theo and Samuel; a sister, Betsy (Dennis) Thompson, and many nephews, nieces, in-laws, and cousins.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in Blair Lutheran Church East with burial in the Rest Haven Cemetery both in Blair. Vicar Paul Sannerud will officiate.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231.
