Ricky Jay Parris, age 61, of Chippewa Falls, formerly of Independence, died on Friday, February 12, 2021 in his home.

Ricky was born on October 9, 1959 in Bitter Creek, Tennessee to Robert Parris and Reba Jean Demumbra. He was raised in Georgia until about the age of 25 when he moved to Wisconsin.

Ricky enjoyed being outside, hunting, fishing and had the deepest love for his grandchildren.  Ricky served in the United States Army.  Ricky always had a dream of being an airplane pilot and would sneak off as a child to watch the planes leave the airport.  He loved to take his kids fishing, made the best egg sandwiches and had the most contagious laugh.  Ricky was a wild and free man that had a wonderful spirit, spoke his mind and loved with his whole heart and soul.

Ricky is survived by three sisters, Kay West, Lisa Ojo and Karie Pickens; a brother, Danny Queen; three children, Chastity Parris, Dylan Parris and Joshua Parris; two stepchildren, Andrea Johnson and Joshua Bryant and twelve grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Glen Parris and a sister, Bridgette Parris.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.

The Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall is assisting the family with arrangements.
