Robert Gerald Lawrence, age 91, of Pigeon Falls, died on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 in the Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Robert was born on May 19, 1929 in Elgin, IL to Gerald and Mildred (Snow) Lawrence. Bob graduated from high school in 1947 from the Burlington High School. Following high school, he helped on the family farm and worked at the local foundry. Robert married Doris Lehrke on April 4, 1959 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Whitehall.

Robert served in the Army National Guard and went on to serve in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Bob moved to Steig Coulee, WI in 1958. He moved to the Pigeon Falls area because he had made many trips to Rice Lake to go fishing and fell in love with the area. He started dairy farming. Bob loved farming, cutting wood and talking. Bob was a gentle soul who enjoyed the company of everyone. His favorite thing was to give people "the business". He could take it as much as he could give it.

Robert is survived by his wife, Doris. To this union they brought three children: Sally Severson and her three children, Antone (Jenny), Nathan and Katie; David (Pam) and their son, Jordan;  Timm (Cathy) and their two children, Jakob and Grace. Bob is further survived by his siblings, George (Marlene) Lawrence of Rockford, IL, Virginia (James) Dietz of Apache Junction, AZ and Howard Lawrence of Kingman, AZ.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Mildred and his loving sister, Evelyn and her husband, Bill.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 at 1:00 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery both in rural Whitehall. Pastor David Knefelkamp will officiate.  Facial coverings and social distancing will be required. Military rites will be conducted by the Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post #191.
