Robert E. Terpening age 68 of Hatfield, WI died on Friday, February 28, 2014 in his home. Robert was born on November 8, 1945 to John and Hannah (Folkedahl) Terpening. Robert married Jean Sivanich on November 27, 1971 in Onalaska, WI.

Robert was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 200, acting as Commander for 3 1/2 terms, and a lifetime member of D.A.V. He belonged to AM Vets and was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Black River Falls, WI.

Robert was a master barber, serving his apprenticeship and later opening his own shop in Black River Falls."Terps Ole Time Barber Shop", he worked behind the same chair for 25 years. Robert retired in 2004.

His passion was fishing in Crane Lake MN with the same group of guys for 25 years. He salmon fished every year out of Port Washington, WI for 21 years. He also enjoyed golfing and baseball.

Robert is survived by his wife Jean of Hatfield, son Troy John Terpening of Tucson AZ; sister-in-law Doris (Ernest) Lovell of Ettrick; brother-in-law Robert Middleton of Ettrick; eight nieces and nephews; thirteen great nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brother Ronald "Bucky" Terpening; sister Diane "Dixie" Middleton; brother Jon Richard "Jack" Terpening and one great niece Madeline Sivanich.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in Living Hope Lutheran Church in Ettrick, WI. Reverend Christine Hallemeier will officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow the service at the Ettrick Public Cemetery, rural Ettrick.
