Roger Arlen Dahl, age 83, of rural Blair, died on Monday, May 15, 2017.

Roger was born on May 8, 1934 in rural Blair to A. Rudolph and Ardella (Dahl) Dahl. He was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair. Roger attended grade school at Sunnyside and graduated from the Blair High School in 1952. Roger married Charlotte Anderson on November 6, 1954 in the North Beaver Creek Faith Lutheran Church in rural Ettrick.

Roger served in the United States Army from December of 1955 to November of 1957 after which he took an agriculture short course. Roger was a long time farmer and was a member of Trempealeau County Farm Bureau of which he served as vice president of for many years. Roger showed Holstein cattle for many years and served as a delegate for the Wisconsin Farm Bureau State Convention. Roger had always been a strong proponent of agriculture. He was also a member of the Sunnyside 4H and the Zion Lutheran Church in Blair.

Roger worked in the milk shake stand at the Trempealeau County Fair in Galesville from 1953 to 2014. Roger enjoyed going to his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's school and sporting events and celebrating his birthday with his nephews Ethan and Zachary Stendahl for the past 28 years.

Roger is survived by his wife of 62 years, Charlotte; a daughter, Charlene (Lyle) Dobson of Black River Falls; five grandchildren, Kevin (Kristi) Dobson, David (Tracy) Dobson, Joseph (Jeanette) Dobson, Ian Kowterski and Chynelle Kowterski; eight great-grandchildren, Keoinia, Kaleb, Kassandra, Anthonie, Zacharie, Rilie, Cody and Laura Dobson; a son-in-law, Tim Kowterski of LaCrosse and an aunt, Evelyn Dahl of Janesville.

In addition to his parents and grandparents, Roger was preceded in death by two daughters, Chynelle and Cheryl; his sister, Sally Dahl; his mother-in-law and father-in-law and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Blair Lutheran Church West with Pastor Denise Anderson officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blair at a later date.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
