Roger Leroy Nereng, age 85, of Pigeon Falls, died on Tuesday, January 22, 2013 in the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls.

Roger was born August 23, 1927 on the family farm in Pigeon Falls to Orville and Josephine (Tomter) Nereng. He married Mildred Polege on September 17, 1960 in Alma Center. Mildred preceded Roger in death in 1999.

Roger was in the United States Army Reserve and was an over the road truck driver prior to his retirement.

Roger is survived by three sons, Todd (Kirsten), Timm and Rusty (Laura); two grandchildren, Karina and Maria; a brother, Harvey (Bev) and a sister, Dorothy Rongstad.

In addition to his parents and wife, Roger was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Jane Schmudlack and Ruth "Phyllis" Bond.

A family service will be held at the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center. Pastor Roger Benrud will officiate.

Memorials may be designated to the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in memory of Roger.

The Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall is assisting the family with arrangements.
