Roger Allen Peterson, age 70, of Whitehall, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 in the Mayo Clinic Health System in LaCrosse.

Roger was born on September 18, 1944 in Whitehall to Alfred and Mardell (Arneson) Peterson. He graduated from the Whitehall High School and joined the United States Army Reserves.

Roger was employed at GTC in Whitehall, was part owner and the parts manager at Duane's Auto Parts in Blair, worked at Ashley Furniture Industries in Whitehall and IPC in Arcadia prior to his retirement.

Roger refereed high school basketball, baseball and football and summer men's softball. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting with his sons and brother.

Roger was married and divorced to Linda Hoff and Elaina Adorjan.

Roger is survived by four children, Tim (Jeanne) Peterson of Rosemount, MN, Sara Peterson of Pittsburgh, PA, Todd (Nichole) Peterson of Mandan, ND and Amanda (Dan) Mish of LaCrosse; six grandchildren, Wyatt, Mallory, Alexandra, Isaac and Isabelle Peterson and Maria England; a brother, Gary (Charlene) Peterson of Whitehall and several cousins.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Allen.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall with Pastor Yvonne Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Old Whitehall Cemetery in rural Whitehall. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Hutchins-Stendahl American Legion Post #191.
