Roger Duane Solberg, age 79, of Blair, died on Monday, November 7, 2016 in the Grand View Care Center in Blair.

Roger was born on June 6, 1937 in the town of Preston, Trempealeau County, WI to Ray and Ruth (Johnstad) Solberg. He attended the Carpenter School and graduated from the Blair High School in 1955.

Roger enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country from 1956-1960. He was stationed in San Antonio,TX and the Aleutian Islands serving as an Air Police Patrolman.

Roger married Carol A. Erickson in the First Lutheran Church in Blair on December 29, 1956.

Roger farmed and owned and operated a trucking company. Roger also announced at various activities and events for over 50 years.

Roger was a member and past president of the Blair Sportsman Club and was an FFA Alumni. He received several community awards including being named the Blair Cheese Fest Marshall, the Blair Cheese Fest Civic Award, the Blair Cheese Fest Farming Award and an award from the Trempealeau County Viet Nam Veterans.

Roger is survived by his wife, Carol; two sons, Ronald (Shari) and Tracy (Korine) Solberg both of Blair; five grandchildren, Lucas (Rachel) Solberg, Samantha (Andrew) Anderson, Hannah (Nathan) Dahl, Shaun (Cassie) Solberg and Olivia Solberg; eleven great-grandchildren, Jack, Colby, Lexus, Adam, Brielle, twins Brantley and Elsa, Tenley, Zoey and twins Emma and Aspen; a sister-in-law, Loaine Brynildson of Ettrick and a niece, Lori (Tom) McCann of Oregon, WI.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, James Brynildson and a nephew, Jerome Brynildson.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Blair Lutheran Church East in Blair with Pastor Barbara Bruneau officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the Knudtson-Mattison American Legion Post #231.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
