Romelle Marie Christianson, age 86, of Whitehall, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in the Gundersen Tri-County Hospital in Whitehall.

Romelle was born on October 11, 1928 in Wickum Valley, rural Independence, WI to Frank and Stella (Puchalla) Wiench. She attended Wickum Valley school until the 6th grade and then attended Ss. Peter & Paul parochial school in Independence through 8th grade.

Romelle married Harold Lloyd Christianson on June 16, 1948 and together raised seven children. Harold preceded Romelle in death on December 10, 1979.

During her life, Romelle worked various jobs including the City Café and Quinn's in Whitehall and Club Midway in Independence. While holding these jobs, she and her husband also farmed in Irvins Coulee, rural Whitehall up to 1966 and then moved to Whitehall.

Romelle is survived by her children, Dianne (Jerry) Estenson of Whitehall, Jane (friend, Dennis) Pelke of Mondovi, Roger Christianson of Whitehall, Kari (John) Klomsten of Hixton, Debbie (Gary) Fromm of Whitehall and Kim (Todd) Thronson of Osseo; 17 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Romelle was preceded in death by a son, Gary; a granddaughter, Jami Christianson, two sons-in-law, David Hegland and Glen Pelke; two brothers, Herman and Mike Wiench; an infant sister, Delores and a great-granddaughter, Becca Ede.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in St. John's Catholic Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall. Father Sebastian Kolodziejczyk will officiate.

Visitation will be Friday, January 2, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall where a Christian prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. followed by a parish rosary. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
