Rubye Elaine Anderson, age 100, of Sparta, formerly of Taylor, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2020 in the Morrow Memorial Home in Sparta where she had been a resident for the past eleven years.

Rubye was born on April 27, 1919 in LaCrosse County, WI to Frank and Mary (O'Rourke) Borchert. She graduated from the Mindoro High School in 1937.

Rubye was united in marriage to Arnold S. Anderson on October 10, 1942 in the Halfway Creek Lutheran Church in Holmen. Together they farmed in Galesville until they moved to a permanent farmstead in Taylor in 1951. After they quit farming, Rubye and Arnold both had outside jobs. Rubye was a housekeeping supervisor at the Family Heritage Home in Black River Falls until her retirement at 66 years old.

Rubye and Arnold loved to camp with family and friends and travel in their retirement years. Rubye loved her God and family and always had fresh baked goods and a warm meal for anyone that visited.

Rubye was a past member of the Trempealeau Valley Lutheran Church in rural Taylor.

Rubye is survived by a son, Ronald (Lucia) Anderson of Hackensack, MN; a daughter, Mary Kay (Ron) Hanson of Sparta; three granddaughters, Kami (Chad) Ayres of Menomonie and their three sons, Aiden, Deven and Nolen; Kelly (Craig) Erickson and their son, Carter and daughter, Kadynce; Keni (Tyler) Hanson and their son, Eridus.

In addition to her parents, Rubye was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold, on March 11, 1998; a son, John Anderson and all of her siblings and in-laws.

Private family services and burial will be held in the Trempealeau Valley Lutheran Cemetery in rural Taylor. Mr. Scott Brown will officiate.

The Jack Funeral Home in Blair is assisting the family with arrangements.
