Ruth Elizabeth Iverson, age 96, of Pigeon Falls, passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls where she has resided for the past 8 1/2 years.

She was born October 11, 1919 to Elmer and Alice (Huff) Back in the town of Burnside, rural Independence. In 1920, she and her parents moved to a farm in the town of Pigeon. Ruth married John Iverson on March 7, 1939. He preceded her in death on April 21, 1992.

Ruth was a life long member of the Pigeon Creek Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pigeon Falls, it's WELCA and Omega Circle and the Whitehall Women's Auxiliary.

Our mother's life was so enhanced by her loving care at the nursing home in Pigeon Falls. We appreciate the staff's excellent attention to all her needs and thank all the staff and residents ,it was where she loved to be.

Ruth enjoyed reading and working on puzzles. In earlier days she did stitchery and ceramics and worked very hard alongside her husband John on the home place in Fitch Coulee. She played an active part in every aspect of the farm.

Ruth is survived by three daughters, Linda Hanevold of Pigeon Falls, Carol (Carroll) Kindschy of Wausau and Donna Christensen of Lake Geneva; a son, Roger (Barbara) Iverson of Whitehall. Ruth was blessed by having grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren in addition to nephews and nieces. Her sister, Ardis Kjos, lives in Chippewa Falls.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren, two sons-in-law, two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Peace Lutheran of Pigeon Falls with burial in the Pigeon Creek Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery both in Pigeon Falls. Pastor Mary Ann Bowman will officiate.

Visitation will be Monday, December 7, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. in Peace Lutheran of Pigeon Falls and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.

The Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall is assisting the family with arrangements.
