Tri-County Memorial Nursing Home in Whitehall.

Ruth was born on August 9, 1932 in Bruce Valley, WI to John and Anna (Wiersgalla) Olson. Ruth graduated from the Arcadia High School.
Visitation will be Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall where a Christina prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. followed by a parish rosary. Friends may also call one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

She married Ernest P. Shepherd on September 14, 1953 in North Creek, WI. Ernest preceded Ruth in death on April 29, 1984.

Ruth and Ernest owned and operated Shepherd Oil Company. She also worked at the City Café and prior to her retirement was employed as an insurance secretary for the Tri-County Memorial Hospital.

Ruth enjoyed playing bingo, bowling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Ruth is survived by five children, Marcus (Donna) Shepherd of Whitehall, John (Pamela) Shepherd of Mazomanie, WI, Sharon Fowlkes of Whitehall, Alan Shepherd of Whitehall and Julie (Michael) Raasch of Lena, WI; 7 grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and a sister, Doris Fonfara.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John's Catholic Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall. Pastor Woodrow Pace will officiate.
