Selma Caroline Tranberg, age 99, of Blair, died on Saturday, December 17, 2016 in the Pigeon Falls Health Care Center in Pigeon Falls.

Selma was born on April 27, 1917 in rural Ettrick to Hans and Mattia (Ricoldson) Stensven. She was baptized and confirmed in the Living Hope Lutheran Church in Ettrick. Selma married Silas Tranberg on June 20, 1936 in Blair. Silas preceded Selma in death in 1980.

Selma was employed at Gale Products in Galesville and loved to dance, make quilts and do hand stitchery.

Selma is survived by three daughters, Ardyce (Jerry) Paulson of Winona, MN, Alvern Johnson of Whitehall and Vera (Walter) Grinde of Melrose; six grandchildren, Brian Paulson, Caroline Carrie, David Kent Witte Jr., Kristi Witte, Lori Anderson and Lisa Kinstler; five great-grandchildren, Mary Ann Carrie, Gene Carrie, David K. Witte III, Kyle Witte and Devin Witte; six great-great-grandchildren, Ian Mueller, Hannah and Hailey Witte, Keegan Odell and Gabriel and Mikalyn Carrie; a sister-in-law, Doris Willgrubs of Sheboygan.

In addition to her parents and husband, Selma was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Lester and Orville Stensven; two sisters, Mabel Hanson and Melva Tranberg and a son-in-law, Donald Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Living Hope Lutheran Church with burial in the Ettrick Public Cemetery both in Ettrick. Pastor Kary Jonas will officiate.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
