Stanley Peter Lyga, age 77, of Whitehall, died on Friday, September 13, 2013 in the Gundersen Health System in LaCrosse.

Stanley was born on July 7, 1936 in Arcadia to Alex and Victoria (Mish) Lyga. He married Joyce Klundby on August 31, 1969 in Whitehall.

Stanley was employed at AMPI in Blair for 32 years and also worked at the John Lamberson and Steve and Sharon Lamberson farm. He also delivered the Winona Daily News, LaCrosse Tribune, Eau Claire Leader and the Arrow Shopper for 12 years. Stanley enjoyed collecting model cars, doing crossword puzzles and playing cards.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Joyce; four children, Kristie (fiancé, Keith Lisowski) Erickson of Whitehall, Dexter and Dennis Lyga both of Eau Claire and Denver Lyga of Menomonie; four brothers, Adolph Lyga of Blair, Alex Lyga Jr. of Janesville, Richard and Rollie Lyga both of Arcadia; three sisters, Angeline Obieglo of Blair, Victoria Marsolek of Pleasantville and Eleanor Slaby of Arcadia. In addition to his parents, Stanley was preceded in death by a brother, Aloizie.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall. Pastor Denise Anderson will officiate.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
