Susan Kay Amundson, age 64, of Eau Claire, formerly of Whitehall, died unexpectedly at her home in Eau Claire on Monday, December 15, 2014.

Sue was born on August 11, 1950 in Whitehall to Art and Irene (Marsolek) Kulig. She was the second of eight children born. Sue graduated from the Whitehall High School in 1968 and the University of Wisconsin Stout with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Sue had been enjoying her career, working in the financial department at the Mayo Health System in Eau Claire.

Susan is survived by her mother, Irene Kulig of Whitehall; two sons, David (Robynn) Amundson of St. Paul, MN and Travis (fiancé, Kristi Verdon) Amundson of Elk Mound; four brothers, James (Lois) Kulig, Tim (Rose) Kulig and Scott (Shelly) Kulig all of Whitehall and Rick Kulig of Osseo; three sisters, Sandy (Charles) Olson of Janesville, Shirley (Jordan) Skaletski of Hortonville and Sharon (Jim) Jahr of Whitehall; seven grandchildren, Drake, Cavin, Makala, Korbin, Morgan, Isabella and Samantha, all whom adored their sweet, fun and fiercely loyal grandma, Sue. The family would also like to acknowledge her lifelong friend, Lester Peterson of Eau Claire. Thank you for always being there for her.

Sue had a beautiful smile, kind heart, generous spirit and great sense of humor. She had an eye for design and decorating and always knew how to brighten a home both literally and figuratively. Susan had many friends on and off work whom she enjoyed spending time with. She cherished her friendships and loved her family with all her heart.

Sue was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Kulig; her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Petronella Kulig; her maternal grandparents, Valentine and Clara Marsolek and several aunts and uncles.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. in Saint John the Apostle Catholic Church in Whitehall with Father Woodrow Pace officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, December 22, 2014 from 5-8 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
