Tyler "Leno" Jerome Pientok, age 23, of Salt Lake City, UT, formerly of Whitehall, WI died on Wednesday, December 26, 2018.

Tyler was born on January 11, 1995 in Winona, MN to Loren and Melania "Molly" (Sylla) Pientok.  Tyler graduated from the Whitehall High School in 2013.

In his short 23 years, Tyler had a huge impact on many people. Tyler loved sports; basketball, golf but especially baseball. He played basketball during the week and picked up a game no matter where he went. He played a lot of golf whenever he could but had trouble staying in the right fairway because of that nasty slice of his! But baseball was his passion when it came to sports. He played baseball in college and even saw a pitching coach to "see if he had what it took". He enjoyed leading his college baseball team and coaching for area schools. In addition, he simply loved playing catch for hours with anyone.

Tyler was the shoe man… He loved purchasing a "fresh" pair of kicks no matter the cost!

He had a contagious smile that you rarely seen him without! He was a loyal friend to many. There are so many people that called him their "best friend" and many that considered him a "brother". He was personable, many friends shared that they could disclose anything to him and that he would "keep it real" when he gave advice. He had a love for people young and old. He fit in everywhere he went.

He had a deep love for his Grandma Sonja and his sister Chrissy. He hated being away from Grandma and worried about her a lot while he was away in Utah or anywhere else. He had the best grin and snicker when Grandma said something funny. His love was so deep he took a letter she wrote to him to a tattoo artist and had her signature closing "Love Forever, Grams" tattooed on his wrist. Tyler and Chrissy talked almost every day in some capacity. They enjoyed traveling out West together and being active. Tyler was one of the few people who was willing to workout with Chrissy… he even went to fitness classes with her! Tyler enjoyed spending time in Madison with Chrissy, his favorite sandwich was across the street from her home and he insisted on going there every time he visited.  They helped one another in countless ways, siblings yes, but more importantly they were each other's best friends.

Tyler was passionate about his faith. He worked diligently at figuring out exactly what he wanted by teaching and conversing with close friends. No matter what he decided he had a lot of support from his family and friends in Utah and in Wisconsin.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Loren (Melissa) Pientok of Dodge and Melania "Molly" Sylla (Mike Bishop) of Ettrick; a brother, Michael Pientok of Ettrick; a sister, Christine "Chrissy" Pientok of Madison; his grandparents, Mary Lou Pientok of Chippewa Falls and Sonja Sylla of Independence; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tyler's Grandpa Luke Pientok passed away December 27, 2018 and was preceded in death by his Grandpa Leonard Sylla.

Visitation and funeral service will be held at the Whitehall Memorial High School Auditorium in Whitehall, WI on Wednesday, January 2, 2019. The Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. with the funeral service starting at 1:00 p.m. Father Woodrow Pace, Deacon Brandon Guenther (1st cousin of Tyler) and Bishop Todd Ebbert will officiate. Lunch to follow.

The Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall is assisting the family with arrangements.
