Viola May Bolte, age 91, of Galesville, formerly of Blair, died on Thursday, July 2, 2020 in the Onalaska Care Center in Onalaska.

Viola was born on December 22, 1928 in Topeka, KS to Vernon and Pearl (Nichols) Francis.  She married Irwin Bolte on August 1, 1961.  Irwin preceded Viola in death on April 3, 1994.

Viola worked at the bakery in Blair and later was employed as a nursing assistant at the Grand View Care Center in Blair prior to her retirement.

Viola was known for her baking and cooking and enjoyed crocheting, tatting and sewing.

Viola is survived by four sons, Fred (Connie)  Mitchell of Virginia Beach, VA, Mark Bolte, Gaylen (Lisa) Bolte and Eric (Lynnette) Bolte all of Arcadia; two daughters, Ruth Brian of Chicago, IL and Starlyn (Glen) Rittschof of Taylor; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Viola was preceded in death by a son, John and a brother, George.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Blair.  Mr. Scott Brown will officiate.

Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Blair.
