Violet Mae Rogstad, age 88, of Pigeon Falls, died on Sunday, June 29, 2014 in Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Ea Claire.

Violet was born on May 20, 1926 in the town of Franklin, Jackson County, WI to Emil and Cora (Johnson) Lien. She married Vernon Rogstad on June 21, 1947 in in the town of Franklin. He preceded Violet in death in 2003.

Violet was a lifetime member of the Northfield American Legion Auxiliary, New Hope Community Lutheran Church Women of Life and church quilting ladies. Violet volunteered many hours at the nursing home in her later years as she enjoyed helping people.

Violet is survived by a daughter, Viola (Fred) Jacobson of Whitehall; a son, Michael Rogstad of Osseo; five grandchildren, Jason (Chanda) Janke, John (Stephanie) Janke, Julie (Steve) Casperson, Travis (Michelle) Larson and Karla (Scott) Halverson; ten great-grandchildren, Alysa, Bryce, Izak, Allison, Jack, Molly, Luke, Adia, Carson and Danika; a sister, Esther Potter of San Diego, CA; a sister-in-law, Mildred Rogstad of Black River Falls; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Violet was preceded in death by three brothers, Emerson, Orland, Joseph and two sisters, Myrtle and Viola.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the New Hope Community Lutheran Church with burial in the Pigeon Creek Cemetery both in Northfield. Pastor David Johnson will officiate.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 4-7 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home in Whitehall and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
