Virginia Janice Mae Dale, age 96, of Whitehall, died on Thursday, February 7, 2019 in the Gundersen Tri-County Care Center in Whitehall.

Virginia was born on July 24, 1922 in Sechlerville, Jackson County, WI to Oscar and Mabel (Toraason) Odegaard. She married Myron "Red" Dale on November 29, 1942 in Windom, MN. Myron preceded Virginia in death on March 12, 1986.

Virginia was employed at Gopher Glove in Independence. She also provided child care in her home. Virginia loved working on family heritage, collecting stamps, reading, cross stitching, quilting and doing puzzles. She especially loved kids.

Virginia is survived by three children, Sharon (Merton) Haugen of Pigeon Falls, Wayne (Val) Dale of Mountain City, TN and Janet (Jerry) Hagen of Whitehall ; 20 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Sarah Dale of DePere, WI and Gloria Dale of Ettrick; a sister-in-law, Hilde Odegaard of Plainfield, IL and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Virginia was preceded in death by three sons, David, Gerry and a baby boy; three sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Whitehall with Pastor Peter Jonas officiating. Burial will be in the North Beaver Creek First Lutheran Cemetery in rural Ettrick.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
