Wayne Joseph Knudtson, 74, of Whitehall, died on Monday, December 8, 2025 in his home.

Wayne was born April 10, 1951 in Liverpool, England to Ingwald and Hannah (Allen) Knudtson.

Wayne graduated from Whitehall Memorial High School in 1969.  After graduation he attended UW-La Crosse.  He then went on to work as a land surveyor, working in various locations throughout the United States.  While working in Hammond, LA he met Susan Mitchell whom he married on August 14, 1974.  They later divorced but remained close friends.  In 1980, Susan, Wayne and their daughter Nissa settled in Wayne's hometown of Whitehall.  Wayne worked for many years in the postal service beginning his career in Eau Claire and then as a postmaster in Mindoro, Whitehall and Blair.  In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and spending time with his kids and grandchildren.

Wayne leaves behind two daughters, Nissa and Denise.  He is also survived by Susan Mitchell; son-in-law Andy Stevens; grandchildren, Timmy (Lorelei), Cody, Anna, Emma and Samantha; great-granddaughter, Athena; siblings, Allen, Raymond, Gary, Brian and Elizabeth and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a brother, David and a son-in-law, Errol.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Jack Funeral Home with burial in the Lincoln Cemetery both in Whitehall.  Father George will officiate.
