William (Bill) Allen Gappa, age 51 of Whitehall, Wisconsin, died on Friday, August 8, 2014. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, August 14, 2014, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Jack Funeral Home, 35890 S. Abrams Street, Whitehall, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Bill Gappa Memorial Fund c/o Lisa Gappa, 35901 Sheila Blvd., Whitehall, Wisconsin 54773.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lisa Gappa, their two sons, Matthew (Natasha) Gappa and Thomas (Kylie) Gappa, his mother, Ruth Gappa, nine brothers and one sister: James Gappa, Benjamin (Laurie) Gappa, Joseph (Germaine) Gappa, Robert (Rosemary) Gappa, John (Donna) Gappa, Edward (Julie) Gappa, Timothy (Tricia) Gappa, Michael Gappa, Brian Gappa, and Theresa (Raymond) Millonig.
Bill excelled as a husband, father, brother, and as a Vice President of Manufacturing Information Systems for Ashley Furniture. Bill enhanced the life of each of his family members and made it his mission in life to make people smile, especially the younger generations of his family and friends. He could never say no to extra 4-wheeler rides, popcorn after bedtime, piñatas at Christmas time, or 286 hidden Easter eggs all filled with toys and candy. While devoted to his family, Bill was also a valuable and innovative contributor, in the United States and internationally, to Ashley's global IT presence.
Bill's memories, dreams, and aspirations will be passed on by his beloved wife Lisa, his sons Matthew (Natasha) and Thomas (Kylie), his mother Ruth Gappa and his siblings: James Gappa, Benjamin Gappa, Joseph Gappa, Robert Gappa, John Gappa, Edward Gappa, Theresa Millonig, Timothy Gappa, Michael Gappa, Brian Gappa, his mother-in-law Sandra Erickson, his siblings-in-law: Gail Davis, David Erickson, James Erickson, Sherry Zwart; 17 nieces and nephews, and 4 great-nephews and nieces.
Bill was preceded to heaven by his father, Glen Gappa, his father-in-law, Roger Erickson, and several extended family members.
